Center Overview

Bayou City Research Corporation is a private facility devoted entirely to full-time research in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, neurology and endocrinology. The studies are supported in part by the extensive private practice of its Principal Investigator, Matthew N. Brams, M.D., as well as from sources both private and public. Research patients who enter the trials receive on-going medical monitoring, medication and long-term follow up through the practice.

Clinical Research Experience

Bayou City Research Corporation is able to conduct clinical trials on Phase II, III, IV, Rx to OTC and Post-Marketing studies in both In Patient and Out Patient settings.

Current studies include Major Depression; Treatment Resistant Depression; Bi-Polar Depression; Attention Deficit Disorder; and Schizophrenia with Adult and Child/Adolescent populations.

Sponsor companies include Eli Lilly and Company, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen, Shire and others.

Facility Description

Bayou City Research Corporation is a 3700 sq. ft. facility with dedicated office space for monitors, as well as a comfortable waiting room for patients. The facility includes: exam room with ECG machines, consultation offices, laboratory (with refrigerator and freezer), and meets all required safety and fire standards.

Bayou City Research Corporation is located in Houston, easily accessible to Downtown, and near the Galleria, Greenway Plaza and other highly concentrated areas of population. It is just off Memorial Drive, close to the 610 loop and public transportation. Ample free parking is available.

The facility is near both psychiatric hospitals and general hospitals.

Psychiatrist - Board Certified in Adult and Child
Principal Investigator

Dr. Brams has been a practicing psychiatrist for 11 years in Houston. In addition to his private practice, he is Director of Consult-Liaison Services at Ben Taub General Hospital. Dr. Brams is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor School of Medicine. He brings experience to research from many population groups.
