Clinical Psychopharmacology Consultants, P.A. is a group practice dedicated to adult psychiatry, clinical pharmacology and anti-aging of the brain. The group is affiliated with Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis. Both sponsored and non-sponsored research provides special opportunities to patients suffering from devastating mental illness.

Dr. Abuzzahab has been the principal investigator for the research conducted at Clinical Psychopharmacology Consultants and the International Anti-Aging Medical Institute. He has conducted Phase I-IV clinical trials for over 30 years for most psychiatric disorders including depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, Alzheimer's, obesity, attention deficit disorder, bipolar illness and drug-induced Parkinsonism. The studies that have been conducted have been both investigator-initiated and sponsor-initiated. Some of the sponsors that Dr. Abuzzahab has worked with are Roche, Glaxo Wellcome, Eli Lilly, Hoechst Marion Roussel, Pfizer, Janssen, Abbott, Organon, Solvay, Bristol-Myers Squibb, SmithKline Beecham, Merck and Boehringer Ingelheim. He has also worked with the following Contract Research Organizations: PPD Pharmaco, Quintiles, ClinTrials and Bio-Pharm.

Our site is primarily outpatient but inpatient opportunities are available. We are close to downtown Minneapolis adjacent to Fairview University Medical Center. Two major freeways are within a few blocks of our facility. Two bus lines run a block from our facility.

Faruk S. Abuzzahab, Sr., M.D., Ph.D. has been involved in therapeutic innovations for central nervous system disorders for over 30 years. Dr. Abuzzahab is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Anti-aging Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, Addiction Psychiatry and Quality Assurance and Utilization Review. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in the Departments of Psychiatry, and Pharmacology.

Dr. Abuzzahab's colleague, John E. Simon, is board certified in Psychiatry.

Jan Meulemans is Clinical Research Manager and has experience in managing all IRB requirements, budgets and contracts, patient recruitment, scheduling site visits and working with CRO and sponsor on site visits.

Clinical Psychopharmacology Consultants draws outpatients from the entire Minneapolis/ St. Paul area of 3.5 million people. More than half our study population comes from the nearby suburbs. The clinic is also located within a mile of the University of Minnesota and downtown Minneapolis.
