Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd takes pride in our reputation of being one of the premier gastroenterology practices in the Midwest. All of our 15 gastroenterologists are Board-certified and are on the faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Rockford. Our independent private practice sees over 5000 adult patients per month and performs an average of 50 sedated procedures PER DAY in our wholly-owned Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Rockford Gastroenterology Associates started their Clinical Research Department in 1997. We have participated in over 125 outpatient pharmaceutical GI trials in Phases II, III, and IV. Our physicians are also well known in the medical community as authors, lecturers, and clinical investigators. Research Director Dr. Robert Barclay has been the PI in over 30 clinical trials and is a nationally known author and researcher. We are experienced in all areas of GI research including GERD, Ulcer treatment and prevention, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, functional constipation, colonoscopy prep, and small bowel and esophageal Capsule Endoscopy research, to name just a few.

Our dedicated Clinical Research Department consists of 2 full-time and 1 part-time coordinator with over 27 years of combined research experience. We pride ourselves on quick document turn-around, timely and meticulous data entry, strong recruitment skills, and a large database of research patients. Our experience, attention to detail, and consistent attainment of enrollment goals have made us a clinical trial leader in the field of GI research. Our ability to use a Central IRB helps to streamline and expedite the regulatory process.
