Neurology & Neuroscience Center of Ohio is a private practice conducting Phase II & III clinical trials. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. The center conducts neurologic, psychiatric, pain and musculoskeletal trials.

Facility Description
The center has outpatient facilities with 7 exam rooms, locked drug storage, secure record storage, centrifuge, freezer (-20 degrees C), 12 lead EKG and ability to draw blood. Two large, quiet, comfortable conference rooms for monitors to review case books, with a copier, fax and cable modem. Fax monitoring available and remote data entry.
We are able to utilize a central IRB and a central lab. Contracts need only to be approved by the Principal Investigator.
We have on site nerve conduction-EMG. We have access to independent CT and MRI imaging in our complex as well as an arrangement for same day Ophthalmologic consultation in our building. Patient assessments are performed by a board-certified physician. We provide rapid regulatory turnaround. There is 24 hour nursing and physician on-call.
We employ a full time Psychologist experienced in all aspects of testing including neuropsychologic testing for psychiatric conditions and Alzheimer’s disease. We also employ 4 full-time Research Coordinators.
We are centrally located in northwest Ohio in a safe, easily accessible site. The center is 20 minutes from the Toledo Airport and 60 minutes from Detroit airport. We draw a wide range of patients from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan all with close access to the expressway system.

Investigator Experience
Gary Gerard M.D, the Director, is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has over 26 years of experience doing clinical trials and other research. He was previously Director of Neurology, Winthrop University Hospital on Long Island, New York and Vice Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Associate Professor at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He was selected for listing in Who’s Who in Medicine & Healthcare, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. He is the author of over 30 papers and chapters and has been the principal investigator in over 187 clinical trials.

Staff Expertise
Pauline Gerard Ph.D., Director of Research, Sub-Investigator, administrates the trials, has 24 years of clinical experience and 13 years of clinical trial rating experience, and does psychologic testing for the center and also maintains a private practice as a psychologist receiving a Ph.D. from Yeshiva University Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in New York City and a Masters Degree from Temple University, Philadelphia.
Marjorie Michalak, LPN, Research Coordinator, has over 14 years of experience coordinating clinical trials. She has been the research coordinator for 70 clinical trials.
Jennifer Martinez, Research Coordinator has over 7 years of experience and has done over 70 clinical trials.

We attract a diverse group of patients (children, adult and geriatric) from a population base of 600,000 including Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
