Facility Description

Our corporate headquarters are located in Cranston, RI in a 31,000 square foot newly renovated building owned by our company. Our suite is specifically designed for the function of conducting research studies. Located in our two-floor facility are eleven examining rooms, a laboratory operated by our experienced technicians, and the latest in medical technology. In addition, we have a 250 square foot secured pharmacy. Also, a 455 square foot office is reserved for monitors’ on-site visits, which provides a quiet and comfortable working environment. Fax machines, copier machines, and phone lines are readily available to monitors during their visits.

Moreover, our 31,000 square foot building houses a radiology facility, a laboratory and diagnostic facility, a multi-speciality suite with physicians specializing in oncology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, gynecology, and infectious diseases, a group of five Cardiologists affiliated with N.E.C.C.R, and the private practice of our Medical Director, Dr. Frank Maggiacomo.

Our headquarters are conveniently located approximately 5 miles from T.F. Green airport and 45 minutes from Boston’s Logan Airport with easy access from the highway and easily reached by car.

In addition to our corporate headquarters, we have an office in Woonsocket, RI, adjacent to Landmark Medical Center. Our Woonsocket site contains three examining rooms, a laboratory operated by our experienced staff, a 185 square foot office reserved for monitors’ on-site visits, and a secured pharmacy. We also have nurses and study coordinators screening patients in the emergency room of Landmark Medical Center as well as working closely with affiliated doctors in the hospital. In addition to patient recruitment in the hospital, we regularly send study coordinators to the private practices of affiliated physicians to screen patients for participation in studies.

Investigator Experience

N.E.C.C.R. works with numerous investigators and sub-investigators specializing in a number of therapeutic areas, including, internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, emergency medicine, gerontology, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, psychiatry, gastroenterology, and rheumatology.

Patient Demographics

Both of our facilities are located in ethnically diverse areas of Rhode Island. We draw our patients from our own large Internal Medicine group, which provides primary care for over 6000 patients, the surrounding population, an extensive patient database, and area hospitals and health care institutions. Also, we regularly send our experienced nurses and study coordinators to the private practices of our affiliated physicians to screen patients for participation in various studies. In addition, we utilize various methods of advertising including television, local newspapers, radio, and brochure mailings. Many patients who have already participated in studies return for participation in later studies. Qualified professionals carefully screen each potential patient to ensure they meet the criteria set by the sponsor. As a result of careful and extensive patient recruitment, we often surpass the required patient enrollment.
