Our community is fortunate to have over 15 Home Health Agencies in the area to support a growing number of retirees and a sizeable military population as we are near the largest Air Force base in the country. We utilize our Electronic Medical Records as a recruiting database for our research studies and have also found that advertising works well to bring in potential research subjects. In addition to this, we network with over 250 physicians in the community. Dr. Igleburger speaks on many different topics to senior and civic organizations in the community. These free talks are promoted via radio, flyers and on our website. Dr. Igleburger feels this is a great way to give back to the community while keeping the population informed about our various research projects. ECM&M is the only facility of its kind for approximately 50 miles in any direction. Hence, we enjoy a geographical monopoly on Clinical Trials in many therapeutic areas.
Based on the 2005 Census figures, Fort Walton residents are separated into the following age groups: 65,900 are ages 0-24, 99,083 are ages 25-64: and 25,287 are ages 65+.
