We operate a primary care clinic with patients that include elderly retirees as well as children and infants. Just one block from the beach, we are located in scenic Seagrove Beach. Besides providing the standard clinical services, we have the equipment and expertise to perform lung function tests, Holter monitors and ultrasounds. We also perform minor surgical procedures such as suturing wounds, removing skin lesions and the like.

Dr. Bawa has done biomedical research on Alzheimer's disease and has co-authored a research paper that was published in Experimental Neurology in March of 1993. He has also done an externship at NASA where he co-authored an Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposal to do clinical research on a prospective treatment for orthostatic hypotension. He has extensive writing experience and writes a column every other week in a local newspaper called ‘The Destin Log.’

Dr. Bawa completed his M.D. from University of Illinois at Chicago and also did his residency in Internal Medicine at the same location. Clinical Research was emphasized heavily in his residency program and he helped out in some ongoing clinical research at his University.

Nitin Bawa, MD also has an M.B.A. in Health Services Management from Loyola University and takes great pride in running an efficient practice. He completed his B.A. in Chemistry from Northwestern University and did a lot of biomedical research even during his undergraduate years.

Our outpatient clinic is completely computerized with no paper charts. We are one block from beautiful sugar sand beaches found only in Northwest Florida. We are only a few blocks from unique developments of Seaside and Watercolor. Several of our patients are very wealthy to be able to afford the expensive beachfront property. Others drive in from far away as we are the only Medicaid providers in the area.

Dr. Bawa, board certified in Internal Medicine, is the principal investigator. He has done an internship at Abbott Labs where he was part of the team working on developing an assay for a drug called cyclosporine. He has worked at Kennedy Space Center, NASA, where he helped write an IRB proposal for research on orthostatic hypotension. He has also done research on Alzheimer's Disease and has done biomedical research on the role phosphorylation of Tau plays in Alzheimer’s Disease.

Hillary Glenn, ARNP, board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, did her B.S. and M.S. in nursing at Columbia University, New York. She has worked at Bellevue Hospital and at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She recently moved to Florida.

Shruti Bawa, the office manager, is experienced in running a medical office. She has been integral to the formation and running of this organization from day one and she developed several of the systems we currently use. Since she is a new mother, she now works from home and takes care of the medical billing operations.

Prudence Bruns, Ph.D. is the front desk manager and she recently moved back to this area after obtaining her Ph. D. from University of California at Berkeley. She uses several different computer programs to manage our charts and medical information.

We are located close to the beach and many of our patients are affluent individuals who are able to afford beachfront property. Numerous patients also drive long distances to come to our clinic. Since we live in a popular tourist location, we get a fair number of acute care visits from visitors.

In addition to seeing adults, we do see children as well and Ms. Glenn is experienced in working with sick children in a pediatric Emergency Room.
