Center Overview

AIHF is comprised of multi specialty physicians, nurses, and dedicated research staff with a wide range of experience from Phase I to Phase IV (post marketing)studies including critical care.

AIHF's CRU (Clinical Research Unit) is an independent, full time, multi-specialty outpatient and inpatient research center that is located in Raleigh, N.C. Our site is affiliated with over 200 physicians in the Raleigh-Durham/Research Triangle Area. Our dedicated research staff and our quality focused and results oriented approach are what makes us stand out. Our responsiveness to monitor and sponsor requests also makes us a very efficient and pleasant site to work with. Our large patient population of approximately 300,000 patients makes us an attractive site for even the most difficult to recruit studies.

Facility Description

The AIHF CRU is located in the state- of-the-art 187,000 square foot American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness. Our facility features dedicated space for monitors, wireless high speed internet connectivity, a computer savvy staff with eCRF experience, and a conference center that can be used for meetings for 2 to 300 people. We are conveniently located near RDU airport and the major CROs in RTP. On our site we have: Full service Quest Diagnostics laboratory, comprehensive radiological services including MRI, CT and nuclear scanning, as well as an endoscopy center and a full service certified compounding pharmacy.

Staff Expertise

Our dedicated research staff and physicians have a breadth of clinical knowledge and skill. Given our 200 total affiliated physicians we will not list individual physicians here. Suffice it to say that we can match one of our doctors to almost any research study topic. Our Medical Director of Clinical Research is Cadmus C. Rich MD who is experienced in clinical research and worked with companies like Pfizer, PPD and Bausch and Lomb.

Patient Demographics

Our research site is located in the central portion of the Raleigh-Durham area near Research Triangle Park. We have a population of over one million people in the greater Triangle Area that we draw from and the patient population of our physicians totals over 200,000 patients. With this large patient base we have many patients with virtually any medical condition or demographic category.
