The International Research Center (IRC), founded in 1999, is a Maryland-based Phase I-IV clinical trial organization. Our objective is to provide the highest quality clinical trial services for the drug development process in the Biotechnology, Medical Device and Pharmaceutical industries. To achieve our objective, we have developed a first-class facility and organized a well-qualified staff of professionals to provide inimitable expertise in the deign, management and successful completion of Phase I-IV clinical trials. Our mission as an organization is to make science a reality for our communities by providing consistent, unparalleled and recognized quality research to the drug development process.

Facility Description
IRC operates from two separate offices within the same Business Park located in Towson, MD, which is the northern suburb of Baltimore City. Our unique location provide us with access to a potential volunteer pool of 2.6 million habitants and places us within a range of 2.6 to 8.8 miles of nine community hospitals and 1.7 to 11 miles of nine colleges.

Investigator Experience
Alberto Yataco, MD, FSGC
Principal Investigator
Dr. Alberto Yataco is a physician scientist with extensive experience in patient care and clinical research. A medical graduate from Cayetano Heredia University, he completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gerontology at Union Memorial Hospital and University of Maryland. He has successfully participated in over 150 clinical trials in the past 10 years.
Joseph Adams, MD, FACP
Principal Investigator
Dr. Joseph Adams has participated in industry sponsored clinical trials since 1998. Dr. Adams received his doctoral degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He is a Board Certified Internist who has also received the "Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine" from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Staff Expertise
IRC has a multidisciplinary team of dedicated allied health professionals that offers a vast amount of experience in a variety of therapeutic areas. In addition to experienced clinical research coordinators, we have certified paramedics that provide 24/7 coverage to our unit and a registered dietician, in collaboration with an experienced caterer, that is able to provide the necessary and required diets for each clinical trial.

Patient Recruitment
- IRC has an in-house recruitment center for study enrollment. Recruitment is the basis of a successful clinical research trial. Every study requires its own recruitment strategy, with this concept in mind we are able to customize our strategy to offer you rapid, accurate and consistent enrollment. Our recruitment strategy is dynamic and we are capable of modifying it within hours of detecting a decrease in enrollment since all of our advertising and recruitment venues are subject to metric evaluations.
