Vertex Clinical Research has established long-term relationships with multiple pharmaceutical companies and CROs. Our site is experienced in electronic data capture, and can utilize a central IRB. Vertex Clinical Research conducts Phase II, III, and IV in multiple therapeutic areas such as podiatry/surgery, osteoarthritis, chronic pain, acute post-op pain, fractures, device trials, diabetes, Alzheimers and epilepsy among other areas. Vertex Clinical Research has physicians who specialize in pain management, neurology, family practice, podiatry, orthopedics, internal medicine, surgeons, ophthalmology, and gastroenterology.

Vertex Clinical Research specializes in outpatient clinical trials. We have all the necessary equipment for conducting clinical trials including -20 freezer, centrifuge, high-speed internet, ample secure storage and monitoring space. We have an outpatient surgery center next door for conducting post-op pain trials with extended stay if needed.

We are located in Bakersfield, California with a culturally diverse population. Bakersfield is the fastest growing city in California. We have easy access to the airport, major freeways and hotels.

John C. Zimmerman, DPM, Medical/Clinical Director and the staff of highly respected research professionals have over 30 years combined research experience. We have 3 full-time certified clinical research coordinators. Dr. Zimmerman and our coordinators are members of ACRP. Also on staff at Vertex Clinical Research has an extensive network of board certified physicians in multi-therapeutic areas specializing in pain management, internal medicine, family practice, neurology, podiatry, surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and gastroenterology.

Our research administrator, Sharon Crume, LVN, CCRC is ACRP certified with extensive coordinator and nursing experience. Sharon also worked previously as a CRA. Vertex Clinical Research also has two additional full-time certified research coordinators.

We are located in a culturally diverse population with approximately 500,000 people, the fastest growing city in California. Our site utilizes the patient population and databases of our physician associates as well as successful advertising. Vertex Clinical Research has a high retention rate in our clinical trials.
