The Center for Clinical Research at Washington County Hospital (WCH) is a central location for patient recruitment for Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Pennsylvania. With a potential subject base of over 655,000 people residing within a 45-minute drive, the Center offers single contracting capabilities and provides Principal Investigator services as well as an array of medical specialty services to assist in successful trial initiation and completion .

Facility Description
The Center for Clinical Research at Washington County Hospital is a fully-equipped clinical trial center staffed by board-certified coordinators. The Center has a dedicated -70º freezer for sample storage, dedicated CRF storage, and can perform PKs. The Center manages clinical trials for Phase II - IV studies. The center is supported by a wide array of clinical services including clinical laboratory, diagnostic imaging (PET/CT, MRI, CT, Radiology, nuclear medicine), inpatient hospital (acute care, surgical services, intensive care, coronary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, surgical services, cardiac cath lab, EEG ,Pulmonary Function testing, medical and radiation oncology, and rehabilitation services.) Additional services include a dedicated outpatient endoscopy center, a wound and hyperbaric center, and a cardiac diagnostic lab.

Center Director Thomas F Pianta, MPT has over 14 years of experience in clinical trial design, implementation, and management. Mr Pianta has worked as a clinical trial consultant with Amgen, Regeneron, Sanofi, and Quintiles.
Clinical Research Specialist Angela R. Angstadt, CCRC, has over 8 years experience in clinical trial design, implementation, and management. She is a certified Clinical Research Coordinator by the Association Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). She has also co-authored 2 publications related to her work in gastrointestinal disorders.
Clinical Research Specialist Kathleen Renée has over 12 years experience in clinical trial design, implementation and management. She is a certified Clinical Research Coordinator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
