Center Overview

The Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is a 200-acre campus, one mile south of the state capitol in Oklahoma City. Two hospitals, Everett Tower (Women's and Children's Services) and Presbyterian Tower are collectively referred to as OU Medical Center. There is a close cooperative relationship between the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Veterans Administration Medical Center that permits the educational programs and the faculty to train, provide medial care, and to occupy administrative positions. Together these two institutions provide an 804 bed primary, secondary and tertiary care academic center with 85 adult ICU beds. www.oumedicalcenter.com

The Divisions of the General, Cardiothoracics, and Trauma & Critical Care, are actively pursuing clinical research protocols and are staffed by six, three, and two full time board certified surgeons, respectively. The Department of Surgery is directly responsible for the surgical services at OU Medical Center and VA Medical Center. OU Medical Center is Oklahoma's only Level One Trauma Center.
