Dr. Raoof specializes in Internal Medicine with subspecialties in dermatology & hypertension and whereby has conducted trials for multiple medical indications for over 18 years. Facility Description
The Encino Research Center is an out patient facility. We are one of few Research Centers equipped with an all-inclusive laboratory. Our Lab is complete with its own Treadmill, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Echocardiogram, Pulmonary Function Test, Dexa for Bone Density, Diagnostic Ultrasound, and X-Ray equipment. We also offer Dermatological treatments with our Laser Hair Removal and Laser Wrinkle Reduction Systems.
Our site also provides a designated locked drug room, calibrated equipment, Phlebotomy lab area with centrifuge, and locked drug freezers. We also offer ample storage for research materials and provide working areas for study monitors, as well as an established off-site storage facility to house all archived study documents.
Our facility is conveniently located1 block from the Encino-Tarzana Hospital in Encino, CA.
We are located next to the two main Los Angeles freeways (101 and 405 freeways) and only 20 to 30 minutes away from LAX airport.
Although we have an aggressive media advertisement and recruitment program, word-of-mouth advertising has been our best form of patient recruitment. We continue in being one of, if not the top enrolling sites with most of our sponsors!

Dr. Raoof is one of Los Angeles’ most trusted and better-known physicians. Tooraj Raoof, M.D. graduated from Columbia University and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at U.S.C. School of Medicine since 1989. He is board-certified in Ambulatory Medicine and board-qualified in internal medicine. His sub-speciality is hypertension. Patient Demographics
We have a large patient database, of which 7,000 are active patients. We have been very successful in satisfying the enrollment numbers required for our study sponsors.
Database of 25,000 patients:
- 30% age 60 or older
- 10% with hypertension
- 60% with dermatological disease all areas of Internal Medicine
Located in Los Angeles with its large and diverse population, Encino Research Center has been very proficient in attaining high patient enrollment. Our Center is located near 3 major Universities (U.S.C., U.C.L.A. and C.S.U.N.) and is also located near several large community colleges. As a result of the diverse population present in Los Angeles, our Center has been able to conduct studies which are limited to certain ethnic minorities such as the Asian and Hispanic populations. Dr. Raoof’s popularity as well as the greater L.A. region's population enable our center to be highly successful in conducting research for various pharmaceutical sponsors.
