HRCCR’s President and CEO: Our president and founder is a national thought leader in lipids and atherosclerosis who has over 100 scientific publications in the field, has given over 1400 scientific and educational presentations, has provided expert consultation to the pharmaceutical industry on drug development and professional education, has served on the last two Adult Treatment Panels which developed the National Cholesterol Education Program recommendations for cholesterol management in the US, and has participated in clinical research for 28 years.

HRCCR’s Physician Investigators: HRCCR’s Medical Director has practiced internal medicine in the Hampton Roads area for 23 years and is highly respected by area physicians and patients. He has directed over 100 clinical trials over the past 5 years. He is supported by another board certified internal medicine physician and an experienced nurse practitioner. All of HRCCR’s investigators are directly involved in managing each research patient's care. Their full-time presence in the center makes them readily accessible to sponsors and CRAs.

HRCCR’s Clinical Research Coordinators: HRCCR has 7 CRCs and 3 research assistants. Our CRCs have an average of 6 years research experience. Most are degreed RNs with practice experience so that we can assure proper assessment and triage of patients administering investigational drugs. Most have completed his/her CRC certification exam. Two research assistants are registered dietitians who provide nutritional counseling for lipid, weight loss, and diabetes studies.
