Wellspring Clinical Research, Inc. is a private practice research center located in Huntsville, Alabama. Wellspring was established in 2002 and is dedicated to producing quality clinical data and excellent patient care. We look forward to partnering with our sponsors to ensure an exceptional trial experience.

Clinical Research Experience
Our research staff have participated clinical trials in a number of therapeutic areas including Cardiology/Vascular Diseases, Urological Disorders, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Musculoskeletal Diseases, Psychiatry, and Pain Management. Our staff has a combined total of 23 years experience in clinical trials.

Facility Description
Our clinic office is fully functional including ECG, plain film X-ray, echocardiogram, vascular and abdominal ultrasound and laboratory draws. We have separate space for monitors, a copier, secure storage space for investigational drugs and study supplies. We also have a centrifuge and refrigerator. While our center prefers outpatient studies, both offices are within 3 blocks of Huntsville Hospital, a 700-bed tertiary care facility.

Investigator Experience
Dr. John E. Fanning has been in practice in General Internal Medicine for 15 years and has been involve in clinical research for 4 years. He has participated in Phase II, III and IV trials several areas including lipids, diabetes, hypertension, chronic pain, depression OAB, and osteoarthritis. His research interests include cardiovascular medicine, lipids, diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension and depression.

Staff Expertise
Our center has assembled an excellent research staff. Bev Ann Fallon, Research Coordinator has worked in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry for more than 20 years. For the last 12 years, she has served as a Senior Clinical Research Associate. She has been certified by the ACRP and is particularly knowledgeable of regulations and ICH Guidelines. Mickey Tunstill, LPN has been in nursing for more than 30 years and has been our Clinical Coordinator since Wellspring began. She has certification in Good Clinical Practices.

Patient Demographics
The Huntsville area remains one of the South's fastest growing. The county's population is estimated at 280,000. It is home to the Army’s Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal and is expecting explosive growth in the next few years because of Base Realignment. NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center is also in Huntsville and is expected to play a pivotal role in our efforts to go back to the Moon. Biotechnology is a fast growing aspect of Huntsville’s economy. It has the highest per capita income in the Southeast. Atlanta's is second. The nearby city of Madison, just west of Cummings Research Park, is experiencing rapid growth. The Hampton Cove area on U.S. 431 south is the fastest growing residential area within Huntsville's city limits.
