The Department of Clinical Research at CNY Family Care conducts research within a large, community based Family Practice. Physicians and staff associated with this organization have extensive clinical and research experience which allows us to conduct ethical, competent, and proficient research. The Department of Clinical Research reflects the philosophy of CNY Family Care which focuses on and advocates a competent, compassionate, holistic, and comprehensive approach to care.

The Department of Clinical Research is available to conduct phase II, III, and IV studies. Our population base encompasses the metropolitan county of Onondaga, as well as six rural counties: Oswego, Madison, Jefferson, Cortland, Hamilton, and Oneida. Because Family Medicine provides care across the entire spectrum of medicine in newborns to the elderly, we afford the opportunity for research within many specialty areas and/or disciplines. Our specific therapeutic specialties include:

• Endocrine Disorders (including diabetes mellitus, obesity)
• Cardiovascular Disease (including hyperlipidemia, hypertension)
• Gastrointestinal Disorders (including GERD, irritable bowel syndrome)
• Neurological Disorders (including migraines)
• Orthopedics
• Pediatrics
• Pulmonary Disease (including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, pleurisy)
• Primary Prevention (including smoking cessation, nutritional counseling)
• Psychiatric Disorders (including anxiety, depression)
• Renal Disorders (including urinary tract infections, nephritis, renal stones)
• Skin Disorders (including acne)

The Department of Clinical Research at CNY Family Care is located within the private practice of CNY Family Care, LLP. Six Board Certified, Academically Appointed Family Practice Physicians, four Family Nurse Practitioners and three Certified Physicians Assistants serve over 27,000 patients. This state of the art facility is 53,000 square feet, housing not only CNY Family Care, LLP and the Department of Clinical Research but also: Cardiology, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Physical Therapy, Family Dentistry, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, a State-Certified Laboratory Service, and a Radiographic Facility offering full diagnostic services including PET, MRI, and CT.

Located within five minutes of Hancock Airport, our facility is easily accessible from major thoroughfares as well as public transportation. Hours of operation for CNY Family Care, LLP as well as the Department of Clinical Research are Monday through Friday, 7AM to 9PM; Saturday, 9AM to 2PM, and Sunday, 10AM to 2PM. Nurses hired by the practice are available by phone after hours. On call and hospital coverage is done solely by the practice physicians. Parking is free.

The Department of Clinical Research at CNY Family Care draws from a patient base of over 27,000 patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatrics. This base is drawn from urban, suburban, and rural areas with health status ranging from healthy to chronic and acute. Major employers of this areas include Carrier Corporation, New York State Government, Chrysler Corporation, Crouse-Hinds, Agriculture, and the Health Care Industry, as well as major Universities such as Syracuse University, LeMoyne College, and SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse.
