Drs. Arnold Jacobson and Donald Galen established the first successful IVF program in the Bay Area. Together they were among the earliest in the United States to report a successful frozen embryo transfer cycle and a successful egg donation cycle. During the first 14 years, the laboratory and operating room were located at a hospital next to our practice.
Dr. Kristen Ivani joined the practice.
Dr. Louis Weckstein joined the practice.
We joined the Reproductive Science Center (RSC) National Network to obtain the resources to accomplish our vision of a full-service program. We hoped to advance our technology and provide more cost-effective care by performing all ART and surgical services on site. RSC is committed to helping us apply the latest-available technology within our practice.
We opened a full-service medical and surgical suite in conjunction with IntegraMed America as a member of the RSC Network. This facility allows us to provide full infertility and IVF services in a single location.
RSC Bay Area awarded certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).
1999 RSC Bay area awarded a two-year certificate of accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
We opened a second facility in Fremont, CA, to better serve patients' needs.
Dr. Donald Galen was the first US physician to use an advanced surgical robot to laparoscopically reverse a woman's surgical sterilization. The procedure is a major advance in minimally invasive surgery.
We added a third office in Orinda, as Dr. Susan Willman joined the practice. This site provides greater geographical convenience to patients.

We have a state-of-the-art facility for reproductive medicine. Our practice joined the Reproductive Science Center National Network in 1997 because of their commitment to helping us apply the latest technologies within our practice. The first step we took was to build our own full-service medical and surgical suite at our San Ramon location.
Our practice has all the equipment needed to perform complex microsurgery and assisted reproductive technology (ART). We anticipate continued improvements that will help us maintain our high standards for patient care and fertility results. Our facility is AAAHC Accredited and located two minutes from a large regional medical center.
