Center Overview

Chappel Group Research is a dedicated research facility with experience in Phase II through IV trials. Our Principal Investigator, Dr.Christopher M Chappel, is a Board Certified Family Practice Physician who has been conducting clinical research trials for just under 30 years in Osceola County Florida.
We have a large research patient database of over 15,000 from which to draw as well as access to the over 10,000 patient database from Dr. Chappel’s Family Practice Clinic.

Clinical Research Experience

Our staff has experience in conducting trials in most therapeutic areas with the exception of AIDS/HIV and Oncology. Most recently we have participated in trials for Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, COPD, Asthma, Chronic Pain, IBS, Constipation, Fibromyalgia, Psoriasis, Acute Sinusitis, Influenza, Acute Ankle and Shoulder Sprains, and more. Also, the site has experience in device trials as well.
Our staff are all trained on the most widely used EDC systems including but not limited to Inform, iMedidata, Oracle and RAVE. Over the course of our 30 years of conducting research, we have worked with a wide variety of sponsors including Bristol Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Daiichi Sanyko, Novo Nordisk, Astellas, Forest, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Merck, Pozen and Pearl Therapeutics. Also, we have partnered with CRO's such as INC Research, ICON Research, ClinTec, Covance, PPD, Quintiles and more.

Facility Description

Chappel Group Research is an outpatient facility performing Phase II through IV clinical trials. Our facility consists of 6 exam rooms, 2 separate/private monitoring offices and a fully equipped laboratory. Our site maintains yearly inspection of all equipment including refrigerated and non-refrigerated centrifuges, electronic weight scale, -20 degree freezers, IV pump, Pulmonary Function Testing equipment as well as all necessary clinic equipment.
We are located 6 blocks from the nearest hospital on the public bus system line.

Investigator Experience

Dr. Christopher M. Chappel
Dr. Christopher M. Chappel has been conducting clinical research trials in most therapeutic areas for just under 30 years here in Kissimmee, FL. During that time, he has been the Principal Investigator for over 350 trials.

Jordan Chappel and Todd McCoy
Jordan Chappel, PA-c and Todd McCoy, PA-c are the two Sub-Investigators for our facility; having 9 and 25 years experience respectively.

Staff Expertise

Mayra Rodriguez and Jose Perez
Mayra Rodriguez and Jose Perez; both foreign medical doctors; are the facilities' Clinical Research Coordinators. Dr. Perez has been with the facility for 12 years and Dr. Rodriguez for 10 years.

Sara Albert
Sara Albert is a Registered Pharmacist and has been the Director of Clinical Operations for 11 years.

Patient Demographics

Our facility draws patients from the Central Florida area, with the base of patients from Osceola County. The county demographics are 51.0% Hispanic, 34.9% White (non Hispanic or Latino), and 13.1% African American.
Our facility draws an equal proportion of adult males and females.

Other Information

Our facility utilizes Central IRB's and does not have any additional review boards or committees that have input into regulatory or budgetary documents or negotiations. Therefore regulatory submissions and contract/budget negotiations can be completed in under a week.
