Center Overview

Located near Philadelphia, Marlton is home to our 60-bed facility that specializes in First-in-Human studies. Our Marlton facility provides our clients with services that are critical to successful study completion, including a limited-access pharmacy with compounding capabilities, as well as a procedure and pharmacokinetic rooms, a telemetry unit and three on-site processing laboratories.

Facility Description

The Marlton Research Center is a purpose-built, 60-bed facility with private and semiprivate rooms, a sequestered area available for pediatric or elderly/geriatric patients and their caretakers, and a dedicated first-in-human unit with its own observation and monitoring room. Specialized research facilities include a limited access pharmacy with a clean bench hood for compounding as well as a procedure room, PK room, telemetry unit and three processing laboratories. Ample, secure space for study participant housing includes both indoor and outdoor recreation areas.

Investigator Experience

David D. Krefetz, DO, MBA, FAPA, FACN

Director of the Pediatric Center for excellence, Principal Investigator

Dr. David Krefetz is Board Certified in Psychiatry and in Adolescent Psychiatry by both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as, by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. He also has certification in Administrative Psychiatry by the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Krefetz is currently the Director of the Pediatric Center for Excellence and has been a Principal Investigator at PRA Health Sciences since 2004.

He received his medical degree in 1985 from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Iowa. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and graduated in 2002 from Temple University - Fox School of Business Executive MBA program in Philadelphia. Dr. Krefetz completed his internship at Memorial Hospital in York, PA and completed his Psychiatry Residency, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Philadelphia.

Dr. Krefetz has been a frequent presenter at both national and regional meetings of the American Psychiatric Association and of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He also served as, Program Director of the Atlantic Regional Osteopathic Convention in 1996. Dr. Krefetz lectures frequently to the community and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychiatrists. He is a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honor Fraternity and the Beta Gamma National Business Honor Society. He has been a recipient of the Teaching Service Incentive Award at UMDNJ.

Located just 10 miles from Philadelphia, our office houses a state-of-the-art Patient Recruitment Center featuring an in-house recruitment team, a Senior Communication Specialist to build relationship in the community, transportation services, physician referral networks and an extensive patient database which includes over 45,000 disease-state and healthy volunteers.
