Facility Description

Bergstrom Eye Research is located in the south east side of Fargo, North Dakota. The distance to the nearest hospital is within 2 miles from our facility. Our site is easily located 8 miles from the Hector International Airport.

Our site provides a locked storage room, coordinator work area, reserved monitor's room, as well as ample storage space.

Investigator Experience

Dr. Lance Bergstrom

Dr. Lance Bergstrom is in the private practice of Ophthalmology and is the Principal Investigator at Bergstrom Eye Research. In addition, he is part owner of the Northern Plains Surgery Center, a Medicare certified facility that has done over 25,000 eye surgeries since 1999. Dr. Bergstrom received a BA from Luther College and an MD from the Minneapolis University School of Medicine. He received specialty training in Ophthalmology from the University of Missouri. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bergstrom is a Visiting Professor at the Kenyatta National Teaching Hospital and serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine.

Nicole Collins, O.D.

Nicole Collins, O.D., a Fargo native, graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry. She received her doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. She completed her clinical rotations in Westminster, Colorado focusing on primary care, at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania focusing on low vision, at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, California focusing on ocular disease and neuro-ophthalmic conditions at Chu Vision Institute in Bloomington, Minnesota focusing on refractive surgery and anterior segment ocular disease, at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota in Edina, Minnesota focusing on specialty contact lens fits.

Dr. Collins is a member of the North Dakota Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
