Center Overview

APG Research provides extensive service to our sponsors, physicians and research patients. Our team has a combined 40 years of clinical research experience in adult and pediatric studies including Addiction, ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Binge Eating Disorder, Bipolar Depression, Insomnia, MDD, Migraine and headache, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Mood Disorders, OCD, Panic Disorder, Schizophrenia, Social Phobias, Tardive Dyskinesia, Tourette Syndrome

Our research team has two full time Board Certified Psychiatrists or PIs on site, a full time rater, a full time ARNP , two full time CRCs, one assistant CRC and three Laboratory Technicians.

We screen/select our study patients from our private practice “ Advanced Psychiatric Group” database. Advanced Psychiatric Group is the largest outpatient practice in the greater Orlando Area with fourteen clinicians treating 150-200 patients a day. Our clinical staff includes 6 Board Certified Psychiatrists both in Adult and Child, four psychiatry Nurse Practitioners, one Pediatric and Developmental- Behavioral Nurse Practitioner, and three Mental Health Counselors.

APG Research, LLC treats patients with Autism/PDD-NOS/Asperger's, Addiction, Depression, Binge Eating Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Panic Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Insomnia, MDD, Migraine and headache, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Mood Disorders, OCD, Social Phobias, Tardive Dyskinesia,Tourette Syndrome,Schizophrenia, and other Mental Health Disorders. We see patients from ages 3 years to 70 years of age.

Our current research studies include; adolescents with Bipolar I Disorder, adolescents with Schizophrenia, adults with Major Depressive Disorder, pediatric and adolescents with Autism, adolescents and adults with Tourette’s Syndrome, and adults with Tardive Dyskinesia. Facility Description

APG Research, LLC is an outpatient facility.

Specialized equipment includes but is not limited to:

  • On site Lab with 2 full time Lab Technicians
  • Below -70 degree freezers
  • Refrigerated Centrifuge

Our site is uniquely located 0.5 Miles from two major hospitals (Florida Hospital Orlando and Orlando Regional Medical Center). We are also located at the Downtown Orlando bus stop for the Lynx, which is a public transit all over greater Orlando.

Dr. Morteza Nadjafi, M.D.
Curriculum Vitae for Dr. Morteza Nadjafi, M.D.
Dr. Nadjafi has been practicing Psychiatry since 1977. He specializes in adult, adolescent and child psychiatry covering a broad spectrum of disorders. These include medical treatment of depression, panic disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, substance abuse and eating disorders. Dr. Nadjafi continually seeks to set a standard for Psychiatric Medicine. He uniquely combines his education, training and practical experiences into specialized treatment programs and has over 20 years Clinical Research experience. Dr. Nadjafi completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine in 1977. Later, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine, a position he still holds to this day. From 1977 to 1983, Dr. Nadjafi received Psychoanalytic training at the Baltimore D.C. Institute for Psychoanalysis in Baltimore, Maryland. He has recently been appointed as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Central Florida Medical School.

Dr. William Jeter, M.D.
Dr. Jeter has been practicing Psychiatry since 2003. He graduated from residency at the University of Florida, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Jeter specializes in the evaluation and management of major psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse and psychotic disorders. Dr. Jeter was also the head of a large Clinical Research facility in Deland for 10 years in the areas of Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder and Schizophrenia. Overall, Dr. Jeter has 15 years Clinical Research experience.

Sasha Griffin, CPNP-PMHS
Sasha Griffin is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She has worked in behavioral health for over 10 years and specializes in the psychiatric evaluation and medication management of a variety of psychiatric disorders including ADHD, autism, Asperger’s, anxiety, depression, binge eating, Tourette’s syndrome, psychotic and bipolar disorders. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Buffalo and her Master’s in nursing from University of San Diego. She has many years of experience in the acute inpatient setting as well as the outpatient setting.

She specializes in child and adolescent Tourette’s Syndrome as well as Binge Eating Disorder.

Patient Demographics

APG Research, LLC is associated with our private practice, Advanced Psychiatric Group, P.A. which has a database of over 27,000 patients and sees over 200 patients per day. APG Research draws the majority of our patients from our private practice database. We also receive referrals from the 14 clinicians within our private practice along with local physicians. We also use advertising tools to draw an additional study patient database. APG Research is also associated with multiple support groups in the greater Orlando area including but not limited to: Mental Health Association of Central Florida, ACT, CARDS, and UCF groups.

Our database has a variety of race and ethnicity, we see patients starting at age 3 and up to age 75.
