Overview

Aventiv Research, formerly Columbus Clinical Research was founded by Dr. Samir Arora, a proven leader with more than 13 years of clinical research experience. We are an independent, multi-therapeutic outpatient clinical research center with three locations in central Ohio and one in Phoenix, AZ, specializing in Phase I-IV clinical trials. Aventiv gives thousands of citizens the opportunity to participate in clinical trials and research. Aventiv Research strives to be the area's most proactive provider of reliable clinical data to pharmaceutical companies and the general public in order to advance medical treatments and help improve humanity's quality of life. We also believe we can replace the public's fear and misconception of clinical research with a full understanding and appreciation of the positive impact clinical trials have on the lives of participants worldwide.

Facility

Aventiv’s provides outpatient services in a modern 11,000 square foot facility. At Aventiv Research, we have climate-controlled, secure drug storage rooms, dedicated monitor rooms with high speed broadband internet connection for electronic data entry, on-site and off-site long-term storage, conference room, lobby waiting area, private exam rooms, equipped kitchen, and free parking. A referring hospital, x-ray facility and endoscopy facility are all nearby. Other important features include:

IATA certified. The IATA (International Air Transport Association) has specific guidelines for handling and transportation of dangerous goods/hazardous substances. All personnel handling these substances require certification. Columbus Clinical Research is IATA certified.

Aventiv Research Laboratories are CLIA certified. Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA). This program monitors all clinical laboratories for compliance to federal (42 Code of Federal Regulations Part 493 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 - CLIA) and state requirements (Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3725 Plasmapheresis Centers)

Investigator

DR. SAMIR ARORA

Dr. Arora went to medical school in Manipal, India. He then did his residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie PA. During his residency he worked on multiple original research studies one of those on breast feeding received national attention garnering interviews on major networks and newspapers. Since then Dr. Arora has been involved in clinical research acting as principle investigator or sub investigator on over 100 studies. He holds the prestigious CPI designation by the ACRP. He is the president and medical director of Aventiv Research and is actively involved in the running of the company.

DR. SRIDHAR GUDURI

Dr Sridhar Guduri has been with Aventiv Research since 2007. He has since become the Principal Investigator at our Dublin location. Dr Guduri has been in practice for more than eleven years and is board certified in Allergy/Immunology as well as Internal Medicine. He enjoys doing research because it allows him to be on the cutting edge of developing new medications and allows him to offer patients treatments that are not readily available. Dr Guduri has a wife and two daughters. Apart from his private practice and research, he has a passion for education and volunteers as a math teacher for Kindergarten and 2nd graders.

DR. ROY C. ST. JOHN

Roy St. John, M.D. F.C.C.P. attended medical school and completed his residency at the Ohio State University. Dr. St. John specializes and is board-certified in pulmonology and critical care medicine and has over 25 years of experience in the field. He was awarded the "Lifeline of Ohio Physician of the Year" in 2012 and has a rich research background including clinical research in sepsis and pneumonia and was the first provider of bronchial thermoplasty for patients with severe asthma in Central Ohio. Dr. Roy St. John resides in Columbus and enjoys spending time with his wife and their 3 children, reading, playing golf, and is an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

DR. TARANG SHARMA

Dr. Sharma went to medical school in one of the top five medical schools in India. She then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in India. She subsequently completed another residency in Internal Medicine from Mt Carmel Health System, Columbus, Ohio; and a fellowship in Clinical and Molecular Endocrinology and Diabetes from UH Case Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio. She is currently a practicing endocrinologist in the Columbus, Ohio area. Her wide clinical experience generated her interest in research activities at Columbus Clinical Research. She feels that sound clinical research is the essential foundation for development and appropriate application of agents to improve management of disease conditions. When she is not practicing or researching medicine she enjoys music and books.

DR. JESS DEMARIA

Dr. Jess DeMaria specializes in general dermatology and dermatologic surgery and was recently ranked as one of the top ten dermatologists in central Ohio. Dr. DeMaria earned his undergraduate degree, Summa Cum Laude, from The University of Toledo in 1981. In 1985, Dr. DeMaria earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He was initially Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1991 and continues to maintain his board certification. He is currently a principal partner at Central Ohio Skin and Cancer.

DR. RANDY BRESSLER

Randy Bressler, DO Gynecologist, is currently in private practice in Columbus, Ohio. He received his B.S. from Otterbein University, attending graduate school at The Ohio State University studying Anatomy and Physiology. He attended medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathy, rotating internship at Doctor's Hospital, and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist.

Dr. SARAH ARTMAN

Dr. Artman is Board-Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has provided specialized care for women of all ages in her private practice for more than 20 years. She has repeatedly been judged by her peers to be among the Best Doctors in America®, and has been recognized by Columbus Monthly Magazine. Dr. Artman graduated from Cornell University and from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She performed a 4-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ohio State University Medical Center. During college, medical school, and residency, Dr. Artman participated in scientific research and as a resident she received several awards for research activities.

DR MANDEEP SAHANI

Dr. Sahani graduated alongside Dr. Arora from Kasturba Medical College in India. From there, he completed his fellowship at Loyola University. He currently works in Mesa, Arizona as well as several other locations around the area. Specializing in Nephrology, Dr. Sahani is affiliated with multiple medical centers as well as spending time treating patients on local Indian Reservations. He has one daughter with his wife, who is also a practicing physician.

GRAZIA CANNON, MSN CNP

Grazia was born and raised in Youngstown, OH. but moved to Columbus after graduating high school to become a Buckeye. After spending some time at OSU, she transferred to Mount Carmel where she received her BSN. Grazia worked at the OSU Wexner Medical Center as an ICU nurse for 3.5 years before going back to Otterbein to receive her MSN. For the last two years, Grazia has been working as a Nurse Practitioner at The Little Clinic.

Staff

Aventiv Research has a staff of 10 full time Clinical Research Coordinators, 5 full time Research Assistants, a Patient Recruitment Team, a Data Entry Coordinator and a Budgets and Regulatory Specialist. All Staff are trained in GCP's and hold Whitehall Transcelerate and IATA certifications.
