Summary: A study to evaluate treatment with SYR-619 in Subjects with Type 2 Diabetes
To evaluate the efficacy of a study drug treatment on HbA1c
change from baseline in subjects with T2DM that have not previously
achieved adequate glycemic control with lifestyle modification or
metformin or sulfonylurea oral antidiabetic monotherapy.
Several Study Inclusion Criteria Include:
- Male or female 18 years of age or older with a historical
diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Hemoglobin > or = to 12g/dl for males and > or = 10g/dl
for females
- Treatment for diabetes with either lifestyle modification or
metformin or sulfonylurea alone for at least the 2 months prior to
screening
Several Study Exclusion Criteria Include:
- Concurrently treated with combined metformin and sulfonylurea
antidiabetic therapy
- History of cancer, other than squamous cell or basal cell
carcinoma of the skin.
- History of coronary angioplasty, coronary stent placement,
coronary bypass surgery or myocardial infarction
