Summary: A Phase III Study of Study Drug on Prolonging Bone Metastasis-Free Survival in Men with Hormone- Refractory Prostate Cancer

This study is designed to investigate the treatment effect of the study drug, compared to placebo, on prolonging bone metastasis-free survival in men with hormone refractory (androgen-independent)prostate cancer

Patient Inclusion Criteria

• men of age 18 years of greater with histologically confirmed prostate cancer
• having chemical or surgical castration
• prostate cancer is hormone refractory
• at high risk for developing bone metastasis

Patient Exclusion Criteria

• prior or current evidence of bone metastasis
• known evidence of any metastasis involving distant organs (Lymph nodes are acceptable)
