Summary: A Phase III Study of Study Drug on Prolonging Bone Metastasis-Free Survival in Men with Hormone- Refractory Prostate Cancer
This study is designed to investigate the treatment effect of
the study drug, compared to placebo, on prolonging bone
metastasis-free survival in men with hormone refractory
(androgen-independent)prostate cancer
Patient Inclusion Criteria
- men of age 18 years of greater with histologically confirmed
prostate cancer
- having chemical or surgical castration
- prostate cancer is hormone refractory
- at high risk for developing bone metastasis
Patient Exclusion Criteria
- prior or current evidence of bone metastasis
- known evidence of any metastasis involving distant organs
(Lymph nodes are acceptable)
