Summary: Adults with Partial Onset Seizures needed for research study

UVa Health System, Neurology Department, F.E. Dreifuss Comprehensive Epilepsy Program seeks individuals 18 years of age and older with partial-onset seizures for research study.

The purpose of the study is to assess the safety and to demonstrate the effectiveness of an experimental device using electrical stimulation as an add-on therapy in reducing seizures. Study involves surgery to implant an experimental device and brief inpatient hospitalization, x rays, daily seizure diary completion and 21 office visits over a minimum of 27 months with each visit lasting 1-4 hours.


§ The experimental device will be provided free of charge.
§ You will receive $25.00 for all study related office visits.
