Trial Information
Summary: NIH Study to Identify the Optimal Anticonvulsant (ie, the AED with the highest rate of seizure control and lowest incidence of treatment limiting toxicity) used for the initial treatment of children with Childhood Absence Epilepsy (CAE).
We are currently conducting a research study for children with
Epilepsy, children who suffer from Absence Seizures. If you are
suffering from Epilepsy, you may be eligible for a research
study.
To be eligible to participate, you must:
- Newly diagnosed
- 2.5 to less than 13 years of age.
- Blood work within normal limits
- Body weight greater than 10 kilograms or 22 pounds.
All study related clinic visits, testing, and study medications
are provided at no cost.
