Summary: AMG 531, 20030213: An Open Label Study Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of Long-Term Dosing of AMG 531 in Thrombocytopenic Subjects with Immune (Idiopathic) Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), have thrombocytopenia (decreased platelets) and have completed a previous study using the investigational drug AMG 531 (IRB #04174 or IRB #04175). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of AMG531 as a long-term treatment for thrombocytopenia in subjects with ITP. Additional purposes are to evaluate the amount and duration of increased platelets, to evaluate the possibility of reducing other medications for ITP, and to evaluate effects on health, daily activities and quality of life as reported by subjects taking AMG531. Your participation in this study is expected to last as long as you and your doctor feel that you are benefiting from the drug AMG 531 or until March 2007.
