Summary: A clinical study to determine the safety and efficacy of an experimental drug in hyperuricemic patients with symptomatic gout
Mount Sinai School of Medicine is recruiting hyperuricemic
patients with symptomatic gout to participate in a clinical study
to test the safety and efficacy of an experimental drug.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are male or female at least 18 years of age
- Are hyperuricemic
- Have symptomatic gout
- Either can’t undergo conventional therapy or conventional
therapy has been ineffective
You may not participate in this study if
you:
- Have certain types of heart conditions or heart disease
- Are pregnant or intend to become pregnant or are breast feeding
during the study
- Have a history of kidney disease requiring dialysis
- Are an organ transplant recipient
- Have a history of allergic reaction to recombinant protein or
pig products
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
