Summary: Phase III; First Line Treatment Study of Taxoprexin Injection vs. study drug in Patients with Metastatic Melanoma

No prior chemotherapy unless adjuvant (no taxane, DTIC or Temozolomide) however, immunotherapy or vaccine therapy is allowed provided there is documented progression. 6 week washout required for prior treatment. At least 4 weeks since any prior large field radiotherapy or adjuvant chemotherapy. No symptomatic brain metastasis. ECOG 0-2
