Summary: Does Your Loved One with Alzheimer's Disease Have Sleep Problems OR Does He/She Awaken You In The Middle Of The Night Because They Are Not Asleep?

A research study is being conducted to evaluate whether an investigational sleep medicine can help treat SLEEP PROBLEMS in people who have mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease.

If you are a caregiver and you reside with someone with Alzheimer's Disease who experience at least 2 of any of the following symptoms then your loved one may qualify for this study:

  • Difficulty falling asleep at night
  • Waking up during the night and having difficulty falling back to sleep
  • Getting up at night and thinking it is daytime
  • Engaging in out of the ordinary activities at night which awaken the caregiver
  • Awakening too early in the morning
  • Excessive daytime napping

Qualified patients will receive study medication and doctor visits at no cost. Patients who complete the screening process and who enter the 8 week study phase (following screening) can receive up $840 to compensate for time effort and disease related costs.
