Trial Information
Summary: Vaccine Research Needs Your Help
To be eligible for participation, a person must
be:
- 18-55 years of age
- In good health
Qualified participants will receive a study-related medical
evaluation and the investigational vaccine at no cost.
Reimbursement for time and travel will also be provided.
Before you receive the investigational vaccine, you will undergo
a series of tests and evaluations which include, but are not
limited to, study-related medical examinations, the collection of
blood and urine samples, and medical assessments.
If you are a woman, you will also be given a blood test to
confirm that you are not pregnant.
If it is determined you are eligible and you decide to
participate in the study, you will be given three injections of the
vaccine over approximately 6 months. After each vaccination, you
will be observed for 30-45 minutes to ensure that you do not have
an immediate allergic reaction or side effect from the vaccine. In
addition, you will call a computerized system each day for the 7
days after you receive each injection, so that we can monitor your
progress.
In addition to receiving three injections of the vaccine, you
may be asked to attend regularly scheduled clinic visits for a
total of 18 months. At these visits you will provide blood samples
and have study related health evaluations. Your total participation
in the study could last approximately 18 months.
