Summary: Hypercholesterolemia (high blood fat) in Children

Children with hypercholesterolemia (high blood fat) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Montefiore Medical Center.

Your child may be eligible to participate in this study if he/she:

  • Is of age 10 through 17
  • Has been diagnosed with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a genetic disorder of high cholesterol (blood fat) or has a family member diagnosed with the disorder)

Your child may not participate in this study if he/she:

  • Has hypertension due to renal disease
  • Has participated in another research study in the past 30 days
