Summary: Mitral Valve Regurgitation

UVa Health System, Pediatric Cardiology Division seeks Women and Men, ages 18 to 65 with mitral valve regurgitation for research study. This study is being done to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational device called the Cardiovascular Valve Repair System (CVRS) to treat people with mitral valve regurgitation (MR), which is the significant leakage of blood from the mitral valve, as compared to standard heart valve surgery. Study involves An evaluation, overnight hospital procedure and follow up visits for up to 5 years.
