Summary: Males & post-menopausal females with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), ages 18-70 needed for a clinical research study
You may be eligible to take part in a clinical research study at
McLean Hospital. This study will assess fluid changes in the lower
legs after treatment with an FDA-approved anti-diabetic medication
for 8 weeks. To assess the fluid changes in your legs you will be
undergo MRI scans and tracer studies on 4 occasions. You may
receive up to $1860 compensation for completing the study. If you

Patient Inclusion Criteria:
Participants must:
- Have T2DM
- Be between the ages of 18 and 70
- Be a man or a woman after menopause
- Weigh less than 250 pounds
- Be a non-smoker
- Have a regular exercise routine
- Be willing to abstain from caffeine and alcohol for 48 hours on
several occasions
Patient Exclusion Criteria
Patients must not:
- Be on Actos or Avandia
- Be a heavy caffeine drinker
- Have permanent metal implants
