Trial Information
Summary: An experimental study to determine the dosage and safety of a study drug in patients with leukemia.
North Shore University Hospital is conducting a study to
determine the safety, tolerability, and dosage of an experimental
drug, in patients with leukemia.
Some of the study subject requirements are:
- Having pathologic confirmation of leukemia or myelodysplastic
syndrome
- Being at least 18 years old
- Having a life expectancy of at least 12 weeks
A study subject may not participate in this study if
they:
- Have had chemotherapy or other experimental anticancer
treatment in the two weeks prior to study entry
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have evidence of central nervous system leukemic
involvement
- Have clinically significant heart disease or lung disease
- Have active or uncontrolled infection
- Have evidence of invasive fungal infection, HIV, or hepatitis C
infection
- Have a history of Wilson’s disease or other copper-related
disorder
- Have a known hypersensitivity to cytarabine, daunorubicin or
liposomal products
