Summary: Phase II Trial of Cloretazine in Elderly Patients with Poor Risk de novo AML

No acute promyelocytic leukemia. Must be at least 60 yrs. or older, no prior chemo w/wo radiation. No history of MDS, myeloproliferative disease or favorable cytogenetics. Hydroxyurea allowed. No flagyl 24 hrs prior to tx.

Must have at least one of the following:

  • Unfavorable cytogenetics
  • ECOG 2
  • at least 70 yrs. or older
  • Cardiac / pulmonary / hepatic/ organ dysfunction
