Trial Information

Summary: PHI-53 NCI#7251: A Phase I Trial of PXD101 in Combination with 13-cis-Retinoic Acid in Advanced Solid Tumor Malignancies

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have an advanced, solid, malignant tumor that is no longer responding to standard treatment.  The purpose of this research study is to find the highest doses of PXD101 that can be given in combination with 13-cis-retinoic acid (13-cRA) without causing unmanageable side effects and to learn about the side effects of this combination of drugs. Another purpose is to study the levels of this combination of drugs that remain in the body over time. Researchers will also be looking at blood and cancer tissue to see if there are markers (either genetic or molecular) in blood or tissue that can predict response.  Your treatment on this study will continue for as long as your cancer is not growing and you are not having any unmanageable side effects.  After your treatment is over, your medical condition will be followed for eight weeks.
