Summary: Escape Migraine

Have you been diagnosed with migraine headaches?

Have you:

• Had migraines for more than 12 months?
• Tried preventative drugs without effect?

Are you:

• Between 18 and 55 years old?

If you answered yes to all of these questions you may be able to participate in a new clinical research trial called ESCAPE, sponsored by St. Jude Medical.

The trial may help find a new treatment for migraine sufferers.

Several clinical experiences have shown an association between the presence of a PFO (patent foramen ovale)-a small hole in one of the heart’s chambers-and migraine headaches. The ESCAPE Migraine trial is designed to study whether closing this defect will help migraine sufferers.
