Summary: Clinical trial to test a study drug in the prevention of mouth inflammation in cancer patients receiving stem cell transplant

CuraGen Corporation is currently recruiting cancer subjects receiving autologous stem cell transplant to participate in a clinical study. The clinical study is trying to confirm the safety and efficacy of a study drug for the prevention of oral mucositis (mouth inflammation), a condition that is common in cancer patients receiving myeloablative chemotherapy with or without total body irradiation.

Study drug and study procedures will be made available to you at no cost.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have certain cancers (multiple myeloma or lymphoma) receiving myeloablative chemotherapy with or without total body irradiation that require autologous stem cell support
  • Have adequate organ function

You will not qualify if you:

  • Are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Are diagnosed with AIDS or Hepatitis B/C
  • Have a known hypersensitivity to recombinant protein therapeutics
  • Have taken the study drug previously
  • Have received an investigational drug within 30 days of the start of the study
  • Have an untreated symptomatic dental infection
