Summary: Heartburn / GERD

Carolinas Research Associates is conducting two similar research studies for the same investigational medication. These studies are to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational medication for GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), with and without Erosive Esophagitis.

Patient Inclusion Criteria
To qualify for this study you must:

  • Be able to take any PPI (proton pump inhibitor) like Nexium, Prilosec or Prevacid
  • Have a history of GERD symptoms
  • Have never had any GI surgery

Qualified study participants will receive study related medical exams, blood tests, and study medication or placebo at no cost.
