Summary: An Exploratory Evaluation of Fenretinide (4-HPR) (IND #39,812) as a Chemopreventive Agent for Ovarian Carcinoma [GOG0190]
This research study is to learn why some womens ovaries develop
cancers and to see if the study drug fenretinide can slow down or
stop cancer from developing in the ovary. The study is considered
research because fenretinide has not been approved by the United
States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:
You may be eligible to participate if you
-are 18 years of age or older
-have a normal pelvic exam within 6 weeks of starting the
study
-have a family history of ovarian or breast cancer
-meet additional criteria
You are not eligible for this study if you
-have any heart disease
-have received chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, radiotherapy to the
pelvis three months before the study starts
-are pregnant or breastfeeding
