Trial Information
Summary: Parkinson's Disease - Deep Brain Stimulation
A clinical evaluation of bilateral stimulation of the
Subthalamic Nucleus (STN) using a Brain Stimulation System as an
adjunctive treatment for reducing some of the symptoms of advanced
levodopa-responsive Parkinson’s disease that are not adequately
controlled with medication.
You may qualify for this study if you:
- Are between 18 and 80 years old
- Have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease for a least five
years
You will not qualify for this study if you:
- Have other medically significant disease
- Require frequent repeated MRI scans
- Have a pacemaker or prosthesis
- Currently abuse drugs or alcohol
- Have a history of cranial surgery
- Have a history of seizures
- Have any metallic implants
- Are pregnant
