Summary: Heartbeat - Irregular (Atrial Fibrillation)
Adults with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) are asked
to participate in a research study being conducted by North
Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System/Long Island Jewish Medical
Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have a documented history of atrial fibrillation
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Have a history of heart valve disorders
- Have had a severe stroke within the last 6 months or any stroke
in the last 14 days
- Have any conditions associated with an increased risk of
bleeding
- Have allergies to warfarin treatment
- Are pregnant or of childbearing age that refuse to use birth
control
