- Are you overweight?
- Do you have high triglycerides, high cholesterol, or low HDL
cholesterol?
- Are you currently being treated for high blood pressure
(hypertension)?
- Are you interested in participating in a research

Metabolic Syndrome is a disorder characterized by an
increased waist size, high blood pressure, and increased blood fat
abnormalities.
P
eople with Metabolic Syndrome are at an increased risk for
developing diabetes and coronary heart
disease.
Current treatments for Metabolic Syndrome include
diet and exercise. Investigational medications,
designed to treat Metabolic Syndrome, are being studied.
