Trial Information
Summary: Clinical study of investigational agent for patients who have predominantly Negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
The purpose of this study is to compare an investigational agent
to a marketed medication in the treatment of subjects with negative
symptoms of schizophrenia for 6 months. Patients completing this
study may be eligible to participate in an additional study and
receive an additional 6 months of treatment. Patients are required
to have stable negative symptoms prior to entry into study.
Inclusion criteria:
- Men or women at least 18 years of age.
- Current primary diagnosis of negative symptoms of
schizophrenia.
- Be clinical stable for the past 5 months.
Exclusion criteria:
- Patients with unstable medical conditions or clinically
significant laboratory abnormalities.
- A history of substance abuse or dependence within the past 5
months.
- Have other concurrent psychiatric disorder other than
schizophrenia.
