Summary: Pediatric Allergy study for children 6-11 years of age
Health Sciences Research Center is conducting a research study
to evaluate an investigational drug for children 6 to 11 years of
age. The patients in this study have moderate to severe asthma and
continue to demonstrate inadequate control. The investigational
drug or placebo is an injection administered every two to four
weeks, added onto existing inhaled or systemic steroid therapy.
You may participate in this study if you:
- Are at least six years of age but under twelve years of
age
- Have moderate to severe persistent asthma for at least one
year
- Have inadequate symptom control of asthma
- Have a past medical history of asthma exacerbations requiring
more medication or treatment in hospital or emergency room
- Are receiving inhaled corticosteroids
You cannot participate in this study if
you:
- Have a history of severe food or drug related anaphylactic
reaction
- Have active lung disease other than allergic asthma
- Have been treated with investigational drug within the past 30
days
Additional Information:
- All study visits, study medication and related exams are
provided at no cost to you
- You will be compensated per visit for your participation
- Your child will be monitored closely by our study team to
ensure safety and good health
