Trial Information
Summary: Diabetes and Women's Health Study
The Center for Innovation in Diabetes Education at Joslin
Diabetes Center is conducting an educational research project on
women's health for women of childbearing age with type 1 or 2
diabetes. The study is evaluating a women's health education
class that aims to improve women's awareness of health issues
related to diabetes and preconception planning. Eligible study
volunteers will be asked to participate in a 1 ½ hour education
class, have blood drawn for two A1c measurements, and fill out
surveys. The class will cover important subjects such as the impact
of diabetes on the menstrual cycle, prevention of osteoporosis, and
the need for preconception planning. Participants will be asked to
come to the Joslin twice over a two month period, and parking and
monetary compensation are available.
