Summary: Pediatric QVAR Easi-Breathe Study, Ages 5-11 Years

Health Sciences Research Center is conducting a research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of QVAR versus placebo in mild to moderate asthmatic children between the ages of 5 to 11. In addition, the Easi-Breathe will be evaluated as a breath-operated inhaler.

Your child may participate in this study if he or she:

• Is between 5-11 years of age
• Has a six months history of asthma
• Has not utilized inhaled corticosteroids for 30 days

Your child cannot participate in this study if he or she:

• Has a history or presence of any non-asthmatic or chronic lung disease
• Has participated in a research or investigational study 30 days prior to Visit 1
• Utilizes beta-blockers
• Is unable to comply with required washout period of certain medications
