Summary: Anemia-Chronic Kidney Disease

Medford Women's Clinic is currently recruiting subjects to participate in an experimental study for treating anemia related to chronic kidney disease.

Study drug and procedures will be made available to you at no cost. This is a 17 week trial of an IV medication vs. oral iron to treat your anemia . All patients will receive either the IV medication or oral iron for their anemia, there is placebo on this study.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 12 years of age or older
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Current Anemia
  • Not on Dialysis Therapy

You will NOT qualify if you:

  • Are anticipating or scheduled to have a kidney transplant
  • Are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Have received a blood transfusion within the last 8 weeks
  • Are allergic to ferrous sulfate
  • Have Hepatitis B or C or are HIV positive
