Summary: Device designed to use thoughts to directly communicate with a computer.

The BrainGate ™ Neural Interface System is designed to allow quadriplegics who are unable to use their hands due to spinal cord injury, stroke or muscular dystrophy to communicate with a computer using thoughts.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Unable to use hands due to spinal cord injury, stoke or muscular dystrophy
  • General good health
  • Live within a 2-hour drive of Providence RI
  • Speak English understandably
  • Give informed consent
  • Have committed family member/caregiver
  • Also other criteria
